This is a GREAT kitchen. I picked it for my boys, because it was one of the few options that wasn't pink, ordered it online (site to store ;o) sight unseen, and I am delighted with the simplicity *and* the detail. The knobs click when you turn them much like a gas stove, and the doors and drawer click shut, and perfectly store all of their accessories.
I got the Melissa and Doug cutting and pantry foods, these combined with a few plastic pieces we had around the house are more than enough to keep my kids entertained. I wanted the IKEA stainless pots, but since they don't ship I ended up taking it in the wallet for some Pottery Barn Kids pots and pans (ouch) (*addition* the PBK sauce pan broke! after only a couple of days of use! ARGH!). This kitchen is very much like the 600+ set PBK sells, in its smooth retro quality, my guess is that the big difference is that it will take you at least an hour to put it together (I didn't believe it, but yep to be safe, please set aside 2 hours to put this puppy together- it's worth it though).
The only other thing I'll say is that I paid a lot less (ninety-nine) for this a few weeks ago ;o) you may want to keep an eye out... but I think that this is definitely the best pick, much better than those pricey hokey plastic kitchens.
