(More customer reviews)If you zoom in on the original image,you get the impression that this is actually, you know, a chalkboard. The kind you can write on with chalk and stuff. It's not. I'll upload my own image so you can see what it looks like when you "write" on it. It's a shame, because it really looks great, and that's what the two stars is for. Unless I can find a real piece of slate chalkboard to glue into the inset of this, it's going to be pretty much useless for anything other than hanging my keys on.
Edit: I uploaded a new picture. I had a custom piece of glass cut which I installed with glazier points. The glass can be written on with wet erase markers and works very well. It's a bunch of effort, but if you're in love with the look of this piece as I was, it's worth it.
