(More customer reviews)I thought to myself one day that I should get a unique money box to save all of my change in, and this one in particular caught my attention. I just got it, and it makes me want to ransack the house for more change to put in so I could fill that gauge.
The fuel gauge on the front is of course, a fully functioning gauge. I put about 300 different coins in there so far, and it's about a quarter filled according to the gauge. The gauge may show an inaccurate reading if you shift the box around a lot. The coins apparently rest on a flat but curved switch that recesses itself into a corner of the box I suppose from feeling around. Also, the sides inside the box are sloped to make the coins slide to the lever thing. On the back is a circular door (an inch in diameter) to get the coins out.
Nonetheless, it is a cool and fun novelty item to have on the desk. I recommend this to anybody, since you don't come across a neat little money box like this too often!
On a side note, the shipping for this item was extraordinarily fast. Ordered on the 17th of January, received on the 19th of January. This was all on standard shipping!
