(More customer reviews)I gave this gift to my 6-year old niece, and she loves it. As she was opening presents on Christmas Eve, she got so excited -- we went into the kitchen and spontaniously baked a cake. Seriously. We pulled some ingredients out of the fridge and cupboards -- and made the batter in the kit's bowl while sitting on the kitchen floor! She was so proud of her accomplishment. Everything we needed was in the kit. The apron is adorable -- she wouldn't take it off. The cooking tools are REAL (as opposed to toys made for play). The backpack includes laminted recipe cards that have pictures and are easy to follow. My niece learned that "step one" is to wash your hands. Clever!
How refreshing to cook with kids and not use a mix out of a box! This is how kids should be learning about food.
The product is really well-made and will be a staple in our kitchen for years.
