(More customer reviews)I anticipated this doughnut would be on the small side when I ordered it, and was still surprised by how small it is. Perhaps that's because the diameter is stated as being 2" when it is actually 1.75". You wouldn't think that would make a huge difference, but it does. In fact, if it were any smaller, it would fail the toilet-paper tube test, so those fractions of an inch really do matter if you're trying to find play foods that aren't a choking hazard for smaller kids.
That said, while it may be a borderline choking hazard (probably not), it is a very attractive and realistic replica of a doughnut. The underside is unfinished wood, the top a nice toasted warm brown, with just the right sprinkling of white 'powdered sugar.' And it's not a bad price. We bought two for our play kitchen Christmas ensemble, and I think they'll fit in just fine with all the other delicacies.
