(More customer reviews)The monkey bank is definetly cute and has a "soft coat" making it pleasent to touch, but it is much smaller than I expected. It also has a poorly designed rubber disk to access the bank which a child can easily push in to the bank. Once you get it out (which is awkward), it is also a bit awkward getting it back into the hole, and it clearly leaves plenty of opportunity for a kids hard earned savings to fall out. Still, my five year old does love it because it is tactile and he visually relates to it. I bought a Schylling Rubber Piggy Bank from Amazon at the same time which while more expensive, totally overcomes my objections. My son splits the pennies and nickles he earns, using the smaller monkey bank for his savings, and the bigger piggy bank for charity.
